Remember when you learned a favorite hobby, or a new hobby? An activity that involved actively doing something. We're not talking about a hobby of shopping or reading, but perhaps golfing, swimming, horseback riding, scrap-booking or painting.
Certainly you can read about how to do these active hobbies, as well as go to formal classes. But when did it really "click" for you? When did you feel like "Hey, I can really do this?"
It most likely "clicked" for you when you tried it out for yourself. You picked up the golf club or paintbrush, or you dove into the pool or got on the horse.
Sure - you made mistakes. And then you tried again. That's learning from experience!
Learning occurs naturally everyday. Everything we do is a learning opportunity, if we only choose to examine our thinking and our actions and decide if we need to do anything differently to do it better.
Experiential learning provides:
- a great framework for learning
- engagement for learners
- better retention of new behaviors

Do you have processes that are undocumented and need to be explained to each new employee?
Do you think your employees could be learning more and applying more of that learning on the job?
Do you attend meetings in which no actions are ever taken?
Do you have difficulties holding employees accountable because their responsibilities and tasks are undocumented?
If so, please review Facilitating by Design's Services to find out what we can do to make your job easier.
